Free College & Career Resources for Educators

This release is the latest in a series of NCAN resources aimed at K-12 district and school leaders, school counselors, and other stakeholders, including community partners.

February 11, 2021

A brand-new NCAN resources page focused on K-12 districts and schools is now available. With this collection of material, districts and schools have the necessary tools necessary to start, improve, or expand postsecondary transition services in one easy-to-use place. The page is organized around four key topics:

  • Transforming postsecondary advising
  • Using data to educate students and inform services
  • Increasing FAFSA completion, and
  • Reducing summer melt and ensuring matriculation.

It also features four of the key, “start here” resources NCAN strongly endorses:

  • OneGoal Postsecondary Readiness Rubrics
  • NCAN’s College & Career Readiness Calendar
  • The National Student Clearinghouse’s StudentTracker for High Schools, and
  • An NCAN brief examining five school districts and partner organizations using big ideas to improve their students’ postsecondary outcomes.

Feel free to share this new K-12 resources page with a district or school leader, school counselor, or related professional. And, these resources may be valuable for community-based organizations working alongside/or with districts and schools, too!

This release is the latest in a series of NCAN resources aimed at K-12 district and school leaders, school counselors, and other stakeholders, including community partners. It evolved from lessons learned from NCAN’s To & Through Advising Challenge, which over the past two academic years saw 20 school districts and community partners across the country implement plans to change their postsecondary advising practices.
