This event is designed to provide college admissions staff information on issues of college access: entry, financial aid, and college planning. Participants will attend presentations, mock-situation settings and work within small-group settings. Summit faculty include experienced college access and counseling professionals with backgrounds in admissions from a variety of post-secondary institutions.

The 2024 date for the next Admissions Counselor Summit is August 1 & 2, 2024. This year’s event will be both in-person or virtual. For in-person it will be at Eagle Ridge Conference Center (1500 Raymond Lake Rd. Raymond, MS) where hotel rooms are available for attendees to book by July 19th by calling 601-857-7100 (details on rates on the registration page). For virtual attendees, a virtual link will be provided to join the main sessions.

Tentative event schedule:

August 1st:
12 pm | Welcome & General Session 1
1:15-4 pm | Series of Breakout Sessions
4:15-5 pm | General Session 2
5:15-6 pm | Optional Networking Reception (in-person attendees only)

  • Panel of Career Coaches & CCR Teachers
  • Strategies for understanding student populations and meeting their needs
  • How to navigate conversations on college admissions with parents and differing personality types
  • Learn strategies to manage stress, opportunities for networking, and personal growth while on the road
  • Maximizing outreach when you can’t visit every school
  • Troubleshooting when everything goes wrong on at school visit
  • Creating a smooth transfer experience
  • Financial Aid updates for the 24-25 school year

August 2nd:
8:30-9 am | Breakfast & Networking
9-10 am | General Session 3
10 am -12 pm | Series of Breakout Sessions
12:15-1 pm | General Session 4 & Closing Remarks
