Admissions Counselor Summit

This workshop is designed to provide college admissions staff information on issues of college access: entry, financial aid, and college planning. Participants will attend presentations, mock-situation settings and work within small-group settings. Summit faculty include seasoned college access and counseling professionals with backgrounds in admissions from a variety of post-secondary institutions. The welcome reception will begin in the evening on Thursday, August 9 and a full day event on Friday, August 10.

Training Educators for the ACT

Are you ready to prepare your students for ACT success? Register for training to teach your students basic fundamentals like time management, how to eliminate answers, and all of the best tips and strategies for all subjects, including the writing section. This 3 hour session will allow educators to share top resources and study material with your students to ensure they are equipped to score their best.

Counselor Training

High school counselors wear many hats with college counseling being an important role for your students. Learn how to help your students as they engage with the college search process. Learn about the college timeline starting in the 9th grade and ways to support your seniors with Application Days, FAFSA Days, and Signing Days. Get updates on federal and state financial aid. Learn how to use federal and state data to 1) identify students early who may qualify for scholarships and grants such as the HELP grant and 2) to assure all your students are meeting federal and state deadlines. Other topics might include writing letters of recommendation, finding the right college fit, undermatching or selective college admissions.

FAFSA Trainings

To become a FAFSA volunteer or to assist your students, this workshop is designed to provide training for assisting with one-on-one FAFSA completion. Learn how to avoid common errors on the FAFSA such as understanding dependency status, household size, and whose income to use. This five-hour training qualifies for CEU credits. 

All training sessions are 10am-4pm and .5 CEU units will be available.
