Our staff meets with students in our three Get2College centers to coach them through the college process.

Our Get2College centers located in Jackson, Ocean Springs, and Southaven offer a full range of free services and workshops to help Mississippi students and their parents plan and pay for college including:

ACT Preparation – Choose from a variety of options including workshops and online interactive test prep to improve your scores. The workshops are for high school grades 10-12 and adults.

College Timeline – Together we will develop a timeline for college planning to include applications for scholarships, admission, and financial aid.

Summer Camp College - Each center invites you to a unique camp to cover a variety of college topics: ACT prep,  college timelines, college and financial aid applications, essay and resume tips, and much more.

College Search – Confused about where to go to college? We will help you find colleges that provide the right fit for you and assist you with completing application forms.

Resume Writing – During this session, we will guide you as you format your high school or college resume. These are often required for scholarships and college admission.

Financial Aid and Scholarships – Learn about different types of need-based and non need-based aid, including federal and state grants, student loans, work study, and merit-based scholarships from your college, and the deadlines for each.

FAFSA, State, and Other Financial Aid Applications – Whether you are renewing or filing for the first time, let us guide you through the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid), the Mississippi Office of Student Financial Aid application, and institutional aid applications.

Interviewing Skills – Let us prepare you for your scholarship, honors college, or admissions interview. We’ll give you a heads-up on what to expect and the best way to prepare. We’ll follow up with a mock interview to make sure you’ve got it down.

Virtual Appointments – If you are unable to come to a center for an appointment, we can meet with you virtually! If you have access to the Internet and a phone, we can schedule a virtual appointment with one of our counselors. We can even help you virtually complete or correct the FAFSA – the Free Application for Federal Student Aid which is the first step in getting money for college.
