ACT WorkKeys® Provides a National Certification

by Brandi Lyndall

Whether you're thinking about the next phase of your education, launching a new career, or making a transition in your current job, the ACT WorkKeys assessment system can help.

ACT WorkKeys is a system of curriculum and assessments that build and measure essential workplace skills that can affect your job performance and increase opportunities for career changes and advancement.

With ACT WorkKeys, you can earn the National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC), an assessment-based credential issued at four levels: Platinum, Gold, Silver, and Bronze. The ACT WorkKeys NCRC® measures and certifies the essential work skills needed for success in jobs across industries and occupations.

You are tested on:

  • Applied Math
  • Workplace Documents
  • Graphic Literacy

By achieving a Level Score of 3 or better on all three WorkKeys assessments, you earn the NCRC. Scoring higher than 3 on the assessments determines your Platinum, Gold, Silver, or Bronze distinction.

Find the nearest ACT WorkKeys assessment site to you at https://www.act.org/content/act/en/products-and-services/workkeys-for-job-seekers/shared/test-site-locator-form.html

You can study for ACT WorkKeys at your local testing center for free, and the assessment is also offered in Spanish.

To share your certificate with potential or current employers:

  • Create a free MyWorkKeys.com account.
  • Make your certificate public.
  • Add information about your NCRC on your resume or job application to enable employers and human resources managers to verify that you have earned the certificate and possess the work skills needed for success.
